Where to get your free rapid test kit on Friday

Starting Friday December 17, 2021, free rapid test kits will be available at select Alberta Health Services sites in the RMWB.

More than 500,000 rapid antigen test kits will be spread across the province to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Available on a first come first serve basis, kits will contain five BTNX rapid tests. Individuals will be able to pick up one kit every 14 days, while being able to pick up one additional box for another person who cannot pick one up for themselves provided they have each individuals health care number.

These tests are intended for at-home use for regular screening in asymptomatic people. AHS is recommending anyone who is experiencing symptoms to isolate and contact AHS to book a PCR test through them.

The following places will be offering rapid test kits in the RMWB:

  • Fort McMurray Community Health Services
  • Thickwood Medical Plaza
  • Anzac Community Health Services
  • Janvier Municipal Building
  • Conklin Multiplex

According to AHS, when more tests become available from Health Canada, more locations will be added.
