Five people have been charged with trafficking cocaine.
The Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section, as well as general duty officers and members of Edmonton’s ALERT team executed a search warrant on October 21st as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Thickwood.
As a result, suspected cocaine, suspected shatter, which is a derivative of cannabis, and soft body armor were seized.
Twenty-two year old Adrien Georgy Hyde was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, he has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on November 23, 2021.
Twenty-one year old Jordan Irvent Curlew was also arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine.
He remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on December 14, 2021.
Joshua McGrath and Donald Harvey were also charged with two and three counts of trafficking cocaine respectively however the police are still looking for them.
The fifth person charged, Tristan Samuel Scanie faces more charges including failure to stop for police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with conditions, escape from lawful custody, and possession of body armor without a proper permit as well as trafficking cocaine.
Prior to the warrant execution, Scanie allegedly fled from police after being informed he was under arrest and nearly struck an officer with his vehicle when fleeing.
He too has yet to be located.
