Wood Buffalo RCMP are issuing several tickets for traffic violations around school zones.
32 tickets with fines and demerit points attached and 15 warnings have been given to drivers over the last few days.
School zones throughout the city come with a speed limit of 30km and drivers must yield to pedestrians at crosswalks.
The Mounties are reminding both drivers and pedestrians of some tips to help with keeping everyone safe.
Pedestrians are asked to make eye contact with the driver to ensure they see you and are aware of your intent to cross, and to avoid wearing headphones and texting when crossing the street.
Drivers are reminded to stay off of devices while operating a vehicle, to check to make sure headlights are in working order and to look both ways after coming to a complete stop before proceeding.
Failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk could result in a fine of $810.
