Downtown Stabbing Results in Arrest of Fort McMurray Youth

A Fort McMurray youth was arrested over the weekend for aggravated assault.
On November 6th at 11:34PM Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a complaint of a stabbing at a downtown business.
On scene, the mounties and found an employee suffering from a stab wound, he was attended to by emergency medical services, and later taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
An investigation indicated there was an interaction between a 17 year old youth and the employee allegedly resulting in the stabbing.
The police located the youth in the downtown area and charged him with aggrivated asault, three counts of theft under 5,000 and obstruction.
The suspect was remanded and scheduled to appear in provincial youth court Monday.
Under the youth criminal justice act, the youth will not be named.
