A couple residents are being awarded a key to the region for their outstanding contributions to the RMWB.

Mayor Don Scott is recognizing 11 individuals in the area for the extraordinary service they displayed in the community.

Mayor Scott says the key to the region is a longstanding tradition that is offered as a symbol of deep trust and honour.

Nominated by members of Council, awards were presented to:

• Guy Boutilier
• Gerald Bussieres
• Pat Duggan
• Phil Meagher
• Torchy Peden
• Robbie Picard
• Rose Pratt
• Margaret Quintal
• Maryam Tsegaye
• John and Leslie Wilson

“On behalf of Council, I am pleased to present this special award to remarkable individuals who have enhanced the Municipality’s profile, provided extraordinary service or made significant contributions to life in the region,” said Mayor Scott.

“We applaud them for their achievements and thank them for their truly exceptional service.”

The keys were presented to the recipients in a series of small private gatherings due to COVID-19.
