RMWB Explains Delayed Results On Election Night

The RMWB is explaining the delay in results from election night.

According to a press release put out Tuesday, a technical issue with one of the vote tabulators took place, which required staff to manually feed over 1200 ballots through the machine.

Polls closed at 8 p.m. Monday night, with the first results being posted at 9:11 p.m., followed by another update at 9:25 p.m. The next update did not come until after 11:30 p.m., before the final unofficial results could be reported.

In comparison, Calgary had their projected results for mayor in under a hour, and Edmonton in just over an hour.
