A local business owner is hoping to take up one of six seats in the upcoming election.

IJ Uche Ezeala is one of 24 people running in ward one, and has worked in 3 different continents as a trained community leader and project manager.

Moving to Fort McMurray in 2010, she has volunteered and served on many boards in the community, including The Wood Buffalo Advisory Board, The Multi Cultural Society, and Big Brother Big Sisters.

Supporting local businesses and reducing red tape, social profits and developing additional roads to help economic growth are some of Uche-Ezeala’s main focus points.

The election is scheduled for Monday October 18th
