Longtime Resident Running For Ward One Council

Running for the first time, Mike Powlesland is looking to take up one of 6 ward one council seats.

Working in supply chain on site, Powlesland says he’s focused on responsible spending, and can bring experience in that area to council.

An active volunteer in the community, he also served as the Chief of Logistics with the Regional Emergency Operations Center during the Horse River Wildfire and in doing so, earned the RMWB Council Award for Achievement in Public Service and the Wood Buffalo Wildfire Response Team award from the province.

A resident of Fort McMurray for over 15 years, he says he’s also focusing on infrastructure development, community building and putting locals first.

Election day is Monday October 18th.
