An active member of the RMWB community is entering the race for Ward One council.

Running for the 1st time, Dale Bendfeld is looking to take up one of 6 Ward One council seats.

Born in Innisfail and spending 37 years with Army and RCMP, Bendfeld moved to Fort McMurray in 2011 with the RCMP to help with the oil sands.

Bendfeld has worked in every level of the government from Municipal, Provincial, Federal, International and Indigenous. He has worked with the RCMP in various roles in the RMWB from Conklin to Fort Fitzgerald.

Now retired, Bendfeld says public service, safe homes and communities, fiscal responsibility, and transparency and integrity are at the top of his list for his platform.

He recently helped open the Fort McMurray Legion Museum.
