Hospitalizations Tip Past 1000 In Province Due To COVID-19; 20 More Deaths

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 continue to rise across the province.

As of yesterday, there were 44 more people admitted to hospitals due to the virus, bringing the total to 1040.

ICU numbers have increased slightly, from 216 to 222.

There are 20,304 (-613) active cases in Alberta, with 233 (-13) in Fort McMurray, and 9 (-6) in rural areas.

The 7 day rolling average positivity rate across the province is 10.4 per cent, meanwhile in the North Zone it is 19.2 per cent.

To date, there has been 2,594 (+20) deaths due to COVID-19, 18 of which have been in Fort McMurray and one in the rural areas.
