Residents will be able to dispose of their household hazardous waste and electronics in Thickwood for free this weekend.

A temporary site will be set up at in the parking lot Centrefire Place on September 25th from 10AM to 2PM.

Household hazardous waste includes things like cleaning products, paints, adhesives, solvents, gardening chemicals, automotive fluids, old electronics and batteries.

Safely disposing of old electronics like televisions, monitors, computers, cameras, printers and microwaves means the heavy metal included in these products won’t be as harmful to the environment.

Municipal staff will be on hand to dispose of the items safely.

The landfill, which is open all year, also accepts these items free of charge.
