Over 20 Deaths In The Past 24 Hours Due To COVID-19 In Alberta

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 continue to rise across the province.

As of yesterday, there were 42 more people admitted to hospitals due to the virus, bringing the total to 996.

ICU numbers have increased slightly, from 216 to 222.

There are 20,917 active cases in Alberta, with 246 in Fort McMurray, and 15 in rural areas.

The 7 day rolling average positivity rate across the province is 10.6 per cent, meanwhile in the North Zone it is 18.9 per cent.

To date, there has been 2,574 (+29) deaths due to COVID-19, 18 of which have been in Fort McMurray and one in the rural areas.
