Alberta Sees Slight Increase In Hospitalizations Due To COVID-19

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 continue to rise across the province.

In the past 24 hours, there were 19 more people admitted to hospitals due to the virus, bringing the total to 896.

ICU numbers are on the rise, with 4 more people being admitted, bringing the total to 222.

There are 18,706 active cases in Alberta, with 215 in Fort McMurray, and 18 in rural areas.

The 7 day rolling average positivity rate across the province is 11.4 per cent, meanwhile in the North Zone it is 19.9 per cent.

To date, there has been 2,505 deaths due to COVID-19, 18 of which have been in Fort McMurray and one in the rural areas.
