You may notice some changes soon if you take the bus.
The RMWB is changing six routes – 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, and 92 – which they note will better serve the community.
People who live and work at the Willow Square Continuing Care Centre will also have a more direct route to and from the building.
The municipality is also adding a new route for Stone Creek, route 42, which will include paths travelled by two previous buses.
These changes will come into effect on August 27, 2021.
More information can be found on the RMWB’s website.
Also, the municipality is keeping all special routes brought in for the last school year.
However, there are some changes to routes that previously stopped in front of Composite and Holy Trinity.
There are no changes for École McTavish, Father Mercredi, and Westwood.
Meanwhile, regular transit fees are being reinstated across the RMWB.
Starting on August 30, the municipality will put the cost to ride the bus back at $1.50.
Monthly passes for students is being set at $41, while adults will need to pay $53.
As for the rural areas, it will cost $10 to use the bus to travel to Fort McMurray.
Those who use transit will still need to wear a mask.
