RCMP Arrest Four Individuals After Downtown Drug Bust

Wood Buffalo RCMP are charging four individuals after a drug seizure downtown.

On July 23, the Mounties executed a search warrant on an unnamed street where they ended up finding suspected methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, ammunition, a firearm and cash.

Four individuals, who were inside the residence at the time, were arrested and charged.

Three of the individuals, 43-year-old Amy Budden, 24-year-old Monty Ian John Faichney, and 27-year-old Darryll Bruce Robert Grandjambe, are from Fort McMurray, while 26-year-old Shaina Leigh Faichney is from Fort McKay.

Budden has been charged with:

  • Storage of a firearm in a careless manner
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Possess a firearm without holding a licence
  • Possess a firearm together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possess methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Proceeds of crime under $5,000
  • Possess a prohibited weapon

Monty Faichney has been charged with:

  • Storage of a firearm in a careless manner
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Possess a firearm without holding a licence
  • Possess a firearm together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possess methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Proceeds of crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with probation order (x2)

Grandjambe has been charged with:

  • Storage of a firearm in a careless manner
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Possess a firearm without holding a licence
  • Possess a firearm together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possess methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with release order (x3)
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Shaina Faichney has been charged with:

  • Storage of a firearm in a careless manner
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Possess a firearm without holding a licence
  • Possess a firearm together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possess methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with release order

Grandjambe and Monty Faichney remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray courtroom on July 27.

Shaina Faichney and Budden have since been released from custody and are slated to make their next court appearance on August 10 and August 24, respectively.
