Jane Stroud Looking For Fourth Term As Ward 4 Councillor

Councillor Jane Stroud is looking to get elected to her fourth term with Wood Buffalo council.

She has represented Ward 4, which covers Anzac, Conklin, Janvier, and Gregoire Lake Estates, since first getting elected back in 2010.

Stroud tells Mix News she wants to return to see the completion of multiple projects for the four rural communities.

“I want to see the rural, water, and sewer hooked up to all homes, the extension of walking paths in Conklin and Anzac, and progress on the egress roads for Janvier and Anzac.”

She adds she also wants to see all roads be paved in Anzac and Conklin and increase access to high-speed internet.

These projects are slated to happen in the coming months with this current council allocating $7.7 million towards fiber-optic internet.

Despite these communities still experiencing many challenges, Stroud believes council and the municipality have done a good job improving the lives for many residents.

“We’re getting the essential services that are needed in these rural hamlets.”

The election is scheduled for October 18, 2021.
