Fort McMurray Adds Four New COVID-19 Cases, 25 Recoveries

The active total of COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray is continuing to drop.

The province announced on Saturday 179 new cases over the past 24-hours.

There are currently 3,247 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 230,298 positive tests.

There are also 290 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 74 of which are in ICUs.

Locally, Fort McMurray added four new cases and 25 recoveries in the past 24 hours which lowers the active total to 130.

The rural areas saw no new cases and three recoveries, putting the active total at 23.

In total, 6,794 individuals across the RMWB – 6,489 in Fort McMurray and 305 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 224,782 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 98 per cent of reported cases.

There were also four new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 2,269.

To date, 13 individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
