RMWB’s Active Total of COVID Cases Continuing To Drop, Sitting at 177

The active total of COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray is continuing to drop.

The province again announced on Friday 170 new cases over the past 24-hours.

There are currently 3,529 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 230,119 positive tests.

There are also 296 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 79 of which are in ICUs.

Locally, Fort McMurray added six new cases and 22 recoveries in the past 24 hours which lowers the active total to 151.

The rural areas added three new cases and eight recoveries, putting the active total at 26.

In total, 6,766 individuals across the RMWB – 6,464 in Fort McMurray and 302 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 224,325 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 97 per cent of reported cases.

There were also three new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 2,265.

To date, 13 individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
