There are currently 30 active COVID-19 workplace outbreaks in the RMWB.
The majority of these situations continue to be found in the oilsands as Suncor, Syncrude, and CNRL continue to deal with cases at multiple sites.
Over half of the outbreaks in the north zone are in the region. Grande Prairie remains the closest as they are also dealing with multiple outbreaks across their county.
According to Alberta Health, the numbers are as follows:

- Base Plant – 890 cases (55 active, 833 recovered, 2 deaths)
- Firebag – 30 cases (0 active, 30 recovered)
- Fort Hills – 106 cases (24 active, 82 recovered)
- MacKay River – 34 cases (7 active, 27 recovered)
Syncrude
- Aurora – 159 cases (36 active, 123 recovered)
- Mildred Lake – 1,346 cases (110 active, 1,236 recovered)
CNRL
- Albian – 316 cases (28 active, 287 recovered, 1 death)
- Horizon – 1,547 cases (59 active, 1,485 recovered, 3 deaths)
- Jackfish – 29 cases (0 active, 29 recovered)
Individual Sites
- Birch Mountain Enterprises – 11 cases (1 active, 10 recovered)
- Cenovus’ Sunrise Lodge – 18 cases (0 active, 18 recovered)
- Civeo Athabasca – 76 cases (7 active, 69 recovered)
- Civeo Lynx Lodge – 82 cases (3 active, 79 recovered)
- Civeo McClelland Lake Lodge – 32 cases (13 active, 19 recovered)
- CNOOC’s Long Lake – 27 cases (4 active, 23 recovered)
- Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake – 144 cases (4 active, 140 recovered)
- MEG Energy – 19 cases (3 active, 16 recovered)
- Oilsands Industrial Lodge – 16 cases (0 active, 16 recovered)
- Wapasu Creek Lodge – 86 cases (0 active, 85 recovered, 1 death)
In Fort McMurray
- Brandt Tractor – 11 cases (0 active, 11 recovered)
- Centre Of Hope – 27 cases (3 active, 23 recovered, 1 death)
- Chez Madamme Piccolo/ École Boréal – 6 cases (1 active, 5 recovered)
- Joly’s Your Independent Grocer – 26 cases (1 active, 25 recovered)
- North Star Ford – 11 cases (0 active, 11 recovered)
- Pastew Place Detoxification Centre – 6 cases (0 active, 6 recovered)
- Safeway – 10 cases (0 active, 10 recovered)
- Salvation Army Shelter – 23 cases (3 active, 20 recovered)
- Sunshine Community Day Home – 17 cases (0 active, 17 recovered)
- Walmart – 10 cases (5 active, 5 recovered)

In total, the 30 outbreaks have combined for a total of 5,124 cases with 386 still active.
This is down from the 835 that were active one week earlier.
Not all of these cases are updated into the region’s case numbers as fly-in-fly-out workers who test positive but don’t have a local address aren’t added to the RMWB’s case count.
These outbreaks will officially be declared over once they go four weeks without any additional cases.
