Local Chamber Set To Provide Rapid COVID Testing Kits To Interested Businesses & Non-Profits

Local businesses and non-profits will soon have better access to rapid COVID-19 testing kits.

Chambers of Commerce across the province will soon be providing the kits to help identify pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic cases.

This includes the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce.

“This partnership gives businesses another leg up to move our economy forward,” said Premier Jason Kenney.

“By making it easier to access rapid testing kits when and where they need them, we are providing businesses with a vital tool to protect their workers and the Albertans they serve.”

The Fort McMurray Chamber will announce once interested businesses and non-profits can officially apply.

Once they are available, non-Chamber members can apply to receive the kits.

If a positive case is found, individuals will be encouraged to schedule a follow-up test with Alberta Health Services to ensure it isn’t a false positive.

Those who take part must also provide the Chamber weekly reports that include the number of tests performed, the number of positive results, and how many were re-confirmed by AHS.

They must also ensure those administering the tests have adequate training. The GoA has made training resources available on their website.
