FMPSD Temporarily Moving All Grades At Christian School To Online Learning

The Fort McMurray Public School Division is moving all grades at the Fort McMurray Christian School to virtual learning.

From April 12 to 16, all students from the early childhood development program to grade 9 will continue their education from home due to a high number of staff needing to self-isolate.

Currently, 69 per cent of staff and 126 students are in quarantine.

The FMPSD note an individual with ties to the school has also tested positive for the UK variant of concern.

“As these grades move to online learning, the school and Division staff will be able to work out technology-related logistics as needed for students,” said Jennifer Turner, FMPSD Superintendent l.

“We are able to accommodate any students who cannot find childcare options. Staff not in isolation are able to remain in the building to access teaching materials.”

The Christian School is the third school in the division to have grades temporarily move back to online learning next week as the Fort McMurray Islamic School and École Dickinsfield also deal with a high number of COVID-19 cases.
