Keyano Launching Esports Management Course

Keyano College is joining the world of Esports.

The post-secondary school will be offering a two-year diploma specializing in management in the video game industry.

“Keyano College is keenly aware of the opportunity for students wanting to enter into the arena of competitive video gaming on a professional level,” said Dr. Vincella Thompson, Dean, School of University Studies, Career Programs, and Academic Upgrading.

The program will consist of 10 courses aimed at team and league administration, coaching, marketing, sponsorship, and promotion.

Keyano will also be providing students with a state-of-the-art video gaming lab where they can learn and apply their skills.

“We are prepared to teach them what they will need to know to succeed and thrive in this industry,” added Thompson.

The first set of classes are scheduled for this fall.

Keyano is planning to have in-class learning return by next semester.

– An earlier version stated the Esports industry directly supports more than 135,000 full-time jobs across the country and generates nearly $9 billion each year. This is incorrect and we’ve removed it from the story
