Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating after finding human remains.

On March 20, around 1:50 p.m. the Mounties were called to a wooded area near Silin Forest Road and Thickett Drive.

The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time, however, an autopsy will take place on March 24 in Edmonton at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

They, along with Wood Buffalo RCMP General Investigation Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Services are still on scene investigating.

The police say they’ll continue to update the public as more information becomes available.
