Fort McMurray Man Dies After Off-Road Vehicle Rollover

A Fort McMurray man is dead following a single-vehicle crash involving an off-road-vehicle.

On March 15, emergency medical services received a 9-1-1 call around 11:45 p.m. after a vehicle reportedly rolled over on an off-road trail around three km south of Highway 69 and Highway 63.

Regional Emergency Services, the Local HERO Medevac, and Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to the accident.

They ended up finding two men at the scene, a 27-year-old driver and a 38-year-old passenger.

The Mounties note their preliminary investigation suggests the men were using the vehicle when they reportedly lost control after hitting an ice patch.

The passenger died from his injuries at the scene, while the condition of the driver is not known at this time.
