RCMP Charge 38-Year-Old Man After Drugs Found During Traffic Stop

Wood Buffalo RCMP are charging a 38-year-old Fort McMurray man with drug trafficking.

On February 12, the Mounties executed a traffic stop on Highway 63 near Thickwood Boulevard after noticing a vehicle with ‘equipment deficiencies.’

During the stop, the police ended up investigating for drugs and found 50 grams of suspected cocaine and under $2,500 in cash.

This resulted in Keith John Barry being arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while unauthorized, and driving a motor vehicle without a license plate being clearly visible.

He has since been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on March 23, 2021.
