Suncor, McMurray Métis Sign Long-Term Agreement Aimed At Creating Jobs & Training Opportunities

The McMurray Métis is partnering with Suncor Energy on a new economic agreement.

The oil company has secured a five-year valve sourcing and servicing contract with Powell Infinity Corporation, a newly formed joint venture between Powell Canada Incorporated and Infinity Métis Corporation, the business arm of the McMurray Métis.

“We’re proud of this partnership – for the opportunity it presents for our regional operations and the ongoing development of our neighbouring Indigenous communities,” said Mike MacSween, Suncor Executive Vice-President, Upstream.

This deal is expected to create employment and training opportunities for members of the Métis community.

“We are extremely pleased that Suncor has chosen Powell Infinity Corporation as a supplier in light of the benefits that this will yield for the community,” added Eric de Kappelle, President of Powell Infinity Corporation.

This is the second long-term agreement the McMurray Métis and Suncor have signed in the past six months.
