RCMP Charge 50-Year-Old Man With Second-Degree Murder In Fatal Downtown Stabbing

Wood Buffalo RCMP are charging a 50-year-old man with second-degree murder after a fatal stabbing.

Around 3 p.m. on January 6, the Mounties were called downtown after getting reports of an alleged stabbing.

There they found a man, who’s since been identified as Christopher Michael McQuilkin, injured.

He was transported to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, however, he died later the same day.

Hue Cong Nguyen was arrested and charged three days later.

He’s slated to make his first court appearance on January 11.
