What’s Open, What’s Closed for the Holidays

With the holidays upon us, many services and businesses will be changing their hours of operations through the RMWB.

If you need to get some last-minute shopping done, Peter Pond Mall is open Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but will be closed for Christmas Day.

The mall is open for Boxing Day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On New Year’s Eve, the mall will again be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but then closed for New Year’s Day.

MacDonald Island Park remains closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions from the provincial government.

There are multiple outdoor rinks open which can be found on the municipality’s website.

Vista Ridge Ski Hill will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and January 1.

Winter Maintenance Zones

The RMWB is relaxing its winter maintenance zone program for the holidays.

From December 24 to January 3, residents can park on their street every day throughout the week.

Crews will still be plowing streets and clearing snow throughout the next two weeks.

Transit

Transit services will be slightly changed for the upcoming holidays.

On Christmas Day, only routes 11, 15, and 16 will be operating.

On Boxing day and New Years Day, routes 11, 15, 16, 18 and 99 will be running.

There are no changes for rural transit service over the holidays.

Municipal Services

Municipal crews won’t be collecting garbage and recycling on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The landfill will also be closed on these days.

Those who would have had their curbside collection on Friday will now have it happen on the 28th, while those who were scheduled for the January 1st will have to wait until the fourth.
