Fort McMurray Sees 13 New Cases of COVID-19, 17 Additional Recoveries

Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is continuing to drop.

The province announced on Sunday 1,286 new cases across Alberta.

This raises the provincial total to 90,219 with 19,201 currently active. There are also 760 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 149 of which are in ICUs.

Locally, Fort McMurray added 13 new cases and 17 additional recoveries which lowers the active total to 202.

The rural areas saw no changes which keeps the total of active cases at six.

In total, 1,029 individuals across the RMWB – 919 in Fort McMurray and 110 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 70,167 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 77 per cent of reported cases.

There were also 10 new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past day – raising the total to 851.

To date, two individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
