RCMP Arrest 27-Year-Old Man After Downtown Vandalism Spree

A 27-year-old Fort McMurray man is being charged in connection to a vandalism spree in downtown.

Back in October, Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to a parkade on King Street after over 20 vehicles were damaged.

After investigating for several weeks, they arrested Derek Marcel Cooper on December 2nd.

He’s since been charged with possession of stolen property.

Cooper remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on December 14.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact RCMP at 780-788-4040 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
