Festival of Trees Raises 430K Despite Having to Close Early

The 31st annual Festival of Trees was able to raise $430,000 in support of the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

The event looked different this year due to the ongoing pandemic and included a virtual live tree auction, silent auction online, multiple raffles, and ticketed entry into viewing the trees.

The tree viewing was open from November 14 to 24 but unfortunately had to close four days early due to new COVID-19 restrictions from the provincial government.

The virtual live auction was held on November 21 and featured 15 trees which raised over $192,000.

While sales for the raffles are now closed, draws will be live-streamed on Facebook on December 7th.

Last year, the festival raised 650,000.
