RMWB Adding Second Day For Santa Claus Parade

The Santa Claus Parade will be around for two days this year.

The RMWB is adding a second day after all the original time slots filled up in under 24 hours with demand still high.

Registration opens up at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1.

Those who register will be required to pick a time and will receive a ticket. These tickets will be required to view the floats and must be shown through a closed window.

Instead of driving down Franklin Avenue, the event has been moved to MacDonald Island Park due to COVID-19.

It will be held as a drive-thru with vehicles getting the opportunity to drive past each float in reverse order.

Vehicles are only allowed to show up at the time they registered for.

Meanwhile, the RMWB is canceling all transit tickets as busses aren’t permitted to be used for the event under the new COVID-19 provincial measures.

They will be contacting these individuals where they’ll be offered an opportunity to register for tickets.

The parade will be held on December 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on December 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
