Salvation Army’s Kicks Off Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign is officially underway.

The annual fundraiser helps fund the non-profit’s year-round programs which support the less fortunate across the region.

This year’s goal is $150,000 with the Salvation Army noting it’s important they get as close as possible as many continue to struggle from COVID-19 and the aftermath of April’s flood.

“Your donations help us give hope today,” says Major Stephen Hibbs.

Kettles are currently set up at multiple locations with volunteers accepting cash, credit, and debit donations.

The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers to collect the funds. Shifts are two hours long with safety measures in place to help against the risk of COVID-19.

People can sign up on the Wood Buffalo Volunteers website.
