Fort McMurray Sees Eight More COVID-19 Cases, RMWB Active Total Over 140

Fort McMurray is seeing eight more cases of COVID-19 pop up in the past 24 hours.

The province announced on Tuesday 773 new cases across Alberta. This raises the provincial total to 40,962 with 10,068 cases currently active.

Along with the new cases in the community, five more individuals have also recovered which puts the active total at 132.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes over the past day, keeping the total of active cases at 10.

In total, 468 individuals across the RMWB – 397 in Fort McMurray and 71 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 30,462 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 74 per cent of reported cases.

There were also five new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 432.

To date, two individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
