The number of single-family detached homes sold in Fort McMurray is nearly on par with the amount from last year.

According to the Fort McMurray REALTORS, 469 homes have been bought since the start of the year with 2019 seeing 472 sales.

Both years are down from the 505 sold in the first ten months of 2018.

The biggest difference between 2020 and 2019 numbers is the average price as last year’s properties brought in around $27,000 more.

As for the monthly numbers, 49 properties were bought in October which is a slight rise from the 43 sold at this time in 2019.

The average price was, however, around $19,000 less, sitting just over $500,000.
