Bouchier Providing $225K To Support Several Minor Hockey Teams

Minor hockey in the region is getting a helping hand financially for the next few years.

Bouchier and the Junior Oil Barons have agreed on a new multi-year contract which will see $225,000 be allocated to support seven A and AA teams.

The agreement also includes an optional two-year extension.

In a release, David Bouchier, President & Co-Owner of Bouchier, says he’s been looking to support minor hockey for some time after playing a big part of his childhood.

“Growing up in Fort Mckay we spent many hours on our outdoor rink. With support like this, I am sure some of our local players would have had a better chance of taking their skills to the next level.”

A formal announcement is slated to take place on Saturday at the Frank Lacroix Arena as the Bouchier U15 AA Jr. Oil Barons take the ice.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the game isn’t open to the public, however, plans are in place to live-stream the ceremony.
