No New COVID-19 Cases in Wood Buffalo Over Past 24 Hours

Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is going down.

The province announced on Wednesday 410 new cases across Alberta. This raises the provincial total to 26,565 with 4,793 cases currently active.

Fort McMurray didn’t see any new cases, while five other individuals have recovered. One previously reported case on the provincial map was also lifted putting the active total in the community at 39.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes, keeping the total of active cases at seven.

In total, 368 individuals across the RMWB – 304 in Fort McMurray and 64 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 21,459 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents under 81 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there were five new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past day – raising the total to 313.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
