Active COVID-19 Cases Slightly Increases in Fort McMurray

The active total of COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray is slighting increasing.

The province announced on Tuesday 422 new cases across Alberta. This raises the provincial total to 26,155 with 4,738 cases currently active.

Fort McMurray added two new cases and saw one additional recovery in the past 24 hours putting the active total at 45.

The rural area didn’t see any new changes, keeping the total of active cases at seven.

In total, 363 individuals across the RMWB – 299 in Fort McMurray and 64 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 21,108 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents under 81 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there were two new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past day – raising the total to 309.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
