A book by a local author is making the short list for the Alberta Reads Book Club.

Therese Greenwood’s What you Take With You: Wildfire, Family and the Road Home is one of six books to make the list for the November-December Selection.

“I am grateful to receive this supportive promotion from both Arts Council Wood Buffalo and the Alberta Reads Book Club,” she said.

“I feel very fortunate to live in a place so committed to actively supporting writers and books.”

The memoir is an eye witness account of the wildfire and evacuation, with a sometimes humorous examination of the physical and emotional artifacts we carry with us in times of crisis.

The final title will be announced on November 4th, and more information can be found on the Alberta Reads Book Club website.

Greenwood was also honored last weekend by Art’s Council Wood Buffalo with the Award for Excellence in Literary Arts.
