Fort McMurray Active COVID-19 Total Climbs Back Over 30 Cases

Five new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Fort McMurray.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Tuesday 323 new cases across the province.

This raises the provincial total to 22,996 with 3,203 cases currently active.

Fort McMurray also saw two additional recoveries which puts the active total at 32.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes keeping the active total at three.

In total, 353 individuals across the RMWB – 289 in Fort McMurray and 64 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 19,500 across the province. This represents under 85 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there was one new death from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – keeping the total at 293.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
