RCMP Investigating Additional Reports of Shots Fired in Downtown and Dickinsfield

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating additional reports of shots fired in Fort McMurray.

Around 2:45 a.m. on October 5, the Mounties received reports of gunshots in the downtown core.

Several hours later, the police received another call about shots fired at a residence on Britnell Road in Dickinsfield.

There were no injuries in either incident. The RCMP also don’t believe there’s any danger to the public as neither shooting is thought to have been random.

Meanwhile, the Wood Buffalo General Investigation Section has now taken over these investigations.

They’re asking anyone who may have seen anything or have video surveillance around Britnell Road between 5:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m to contact them at 780-788-4040 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

These are the second and third reports of shots fired the Mounties are currently investigating after being called to a residence on Manning Avenue on October 8.
