Four Arrested After Drug Shipment Seized On Highway 63

Four individuals are being charged with trafficking after a drug shipment destined for Fort McMurray was stopped.

On October 8, ALERT Fort McMurray pulled over a vehicle on Highway 63 where they seized around $75,000 worth of drugs.

A separate home in downtown was also searched with additional drugs being found and added to the total.

In total, they seized 278 grams of cocaine, 4.1 kilograms of cannabis, 40 cannabis vape pens, and $2,150 in cash.

“ALERT is intelligence-led, and in this case, we had information about drugs being transported into the community,” said Insp. Sean Boser, ALERT Regional teams. “We were able to make a quick arrest before these drugs hit the streets.”

As a result, 24-year-old Olufetemi Victor Arogundade, 24-year-old Jordan Reid, and 21-year Tyana Kenny, all from Fort McMurray, were arrested. Gregory Sinclair, a 25-year-old from Edmonton, was also arrested.

The four face a total of 14 charges, all related to drug trafficking.
