The active total of COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray is continuing to shrink.
The province announced on Wednesday 243 new cases across Alberta.
This raises the provincial total to 21,199 with 2,689 cases currently active.
Fort McMurray did see two new cases, however, there were also seven recoveries putting the active total at 18.
The rural areas didn’t see any new changes keeping the active total at three.
In total, 345 individuals across the RMWB – 281 in Fort McMurray and 64 in the rural areas – have recovered.
They are among the 18,223 across the province. This represents just under 86 per cent of reported cases.
Meanwhile, there was one new death from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – putting the total at 287.
One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
