RCMP Arrest 27-Year-Old Woman After Armed Robbery

Wood Buffalo RCMP are charging a 27-year-old Fort McMurray woman after an armed robbery in Timberlea.

On October 6, around 2:00 p.m., a woman reportedly entered a business on Millenium Drive, between Powder Drive and Confederation Way, told the clerk they had a firearm and demanded money before fleeing the area.

No one was injured in the incident.

After reviewing surveillance footage, the police identified the suspect as Victoria Fionna Lynn Hayner. The Mounties issued a warrant and were able to arrest her three days later on October 9.

Hayner’s since been charged with robbery with a firearm, use of a forged document, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

She remains in custody and is waiting for her first court appearance.
