No New COVID-19 Cases in Wood Buffalo, Nine Additional Recoveries

No new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Wood Buffalo over the past 24 hours.

The province announced on Wednesday 143 new cases across the province.

The new provincial cases raise the total to 19,354 with 1,910 currently active, nearly half of which are in Edmonton.

The active total in Fort McMurray is down to 31 after eight more recoveries.

The rural areas only have two active cases after an additional recovery.

In total, 320 individuals across the RMWB – 255 in Fort McMurray and 65 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 17,163 across the province. This represents over 88 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there no new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – keeping the total at 281.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
