Seven Additional COVID-19 Recoveries in Fort McMurray, Active Total Now Under 40 Cases

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray is continuing to drop.

The province announced on Tuesday 276 new cases across the province.

The new provincial cases raise the total to 19,211 with 1,900 currently active, nearly half of which are in Edmonton.

Fort McMurray did see four new cases, however, the active total went down to 39 as seven more individuals recovered.

There were no changes in the rural areas over the past 24 hours, keeping the total of active cases at three.

In total, 311 individuals across the RMWB – 247 in Fort McMurray and 64 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 17,030 across the province. This represents just under 89 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there was one new death from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 281.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
