YMCA of Northern Alberta Reopening Downtown Child Care Centre

Families in need of child care can once again receive support from the YMCA of Northern Alberta.

After being closed since mid-March, the organization is reopening the ‘NewAlta Child Care’ centre.

The facility originally shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic but remained closed for several months after being damaged by April’s flood.

“Like the families we serve, we were so disappointed to be closed these past months, said Annalise Yuzda, Vice President Child Care Services for YMCA of Northern Alberta.

“However, we are so excited to have reopened our doors, to continue to provide the community with child care programs they can trust and be part of the downtown rebuilding following the destruction of the flood.”

The centre is located on Penhoorwood Street in downtown Fort McMurray.

Families can register by contacting the YMCA of Northern Alberta.

“YMCA NewAlta Child Care provides the highest level and quality of care to families throughout Fort McMurray,” added Yuzda.
