YMM Airport Financial Officer Wins Continental Award

A member of the Fort McMurray International Airport is receiving a continental award.

Denean Robinson, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Services at the Airport, was named North America’s recipient of the Finance Professional of the Year Award by Airports Council International.

She won in the small airport category as the YMM airport serves under 2.4 million passengers annually.

“I am humbled to be recognized by the airport industry in such a big way,” said Robinson. “Behind this award, is a team of incredible professionals who enable results and do everything they can to move our organization forward.”

She has helped the airport through multiple economic setbacks.

This included the downturn in the mid-2010s, the 2016 Horse River wildfire, and the current 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

“Denean sets the benchmark for what a Chief Financial Officer should be, and I am thrilled for her to be recognized in this way,” said RJ Steenstra, President and CEO of the YMM Airport. “People are our greatest asset and Denean exemplifies that through her leadership traits and ability to navigate complex challenges.”

The winners of the medium and large airport categories were both from the United States.
