No New COVID-19 Cases in Wood Buffalo, Active Cases Drop Slightly in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray isn’t seeing any new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

The province announced on Wednesday 153 new cases across Alberta. This raises the provincial total to 18,062 with 1,582 currently active.

There are now 45 active cases in Fort McMurray as two more individuals have recovered while a previously reported case has also been removed from the provincial location map.

The rural areas didn’t see any new changes over the past day, keeping the total of active cases at four.

In total, 279 individuals across the RMWB – 216 in Fort McMurray and 63 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 16,213 across the province. This represents just under 90 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there was one new death from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 267.

One of the deaths throughout the pandemic was in Fort McMurray.
