Fifteen New COVID-19 Cases in Wood Buffalo, Nine Recoveries Over Weekend

Fort McMurray is seeing 14 new cases of COVID-19 over the past three days.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health announced on Monday 406 new cases across Alberta. This raises the provincial total to 17,749 with 1,549 currently active.

The community also saw nine more recoveries which brings the active total to 53.

The rural areas saw one new case, raising the active total to five.

In total, 267 individuals across the RMWB – 205 in Fort McMurray and 62 in the rural areas – have recovered.

They are among the 15,935 across the province. This represents around 90 per cent of reported cases.

Meanwhile, there were four new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 96 hours – raising the total at 265.

One of the deaths has been in Fort McMurray.
